Meadowlark
Lake County, Montana

I have always enjoyed driving the backroads near my home in search of new images. It’s an enjoyable time and some days are very productive.
Spring is finally here in the mountains of western Montana. The bird calls are inviting me to get out and photograph them in their breeding colors.
I like using a window mount when photographing from my vehicle. I also appreciate having a moonroof in my truck that I can use as a photography perch.
This colorful meadow let me drive within range to get some engaging images. I was able to start my truck and reposition it to improve on the background. Uncluttered backgrounds work the best and in this position, I eliminated some tree branches. The unobscured hillside which was in the shade gave me a nice background, the shade caused the blueish tone.
Embrace the journey!
