Brown Bear Family

Nature photography is a gift.  A gift when we are out in the field observing the natural world and finding our images and later when we share them.  The experiences are both treasures and memories.

What could be better than spending time with a family of brown bears?  Photographing in Katmai National Park is an amazing experience where the bears are not disturbed by our presence. I have never been disappointed.  I can’t wait for my return this year. 

When photographing the activities of a mother bear and her cubs you must be patient and watchful.  Shooting multiple images will give you the opportunity to capture a precious expression like that on the cub on the right.  The antics of the cub rolling in the middle is priceless.  Staying with the family until they are no longer in a good position will capture more of those special moments.
